 Hiruzen Sarutobi Hiruzen Sarutobi ?, the title as the 3rd Hokage, is a fictional character from the anime and manga series Naruto. Family name was inspired by the name Sarutobi Sasuke. Sarutobi means "jump like a monkey," and animals call this character is a monkey.

Masashi Kishimoto, the author of this comic, originally planned 3rd Hokage title given to a dog, but this plan was canceled because it was considered too weird. Many aspects of this character that is similar to the classic story "Journey to the West" of China (Xi Hu Chuan); monkey which he called very very similar to The Monkey King, the protagonist of the story, and the main weapon Sarutobi similar to the wand-like The Monkey King.

BACKGROUND
